"In the most hidden off my thoughts; I live, feel, dream and desire. Only in my mind, I'm the owner and author of that parallel, ephemeral and disturbing world; in which I intend to translate into the canvas so the viewer can perceive it adequately.
Thru my paintings I want to express among other topics, emotions and mude of the women soul. Reflected in looks, faces, and bodies; some taken from myself some others from my imagination or ambiance. and their different status emotional, moods, sensations, feelings, doubts, and frustrations. Using a figurative expressionist of style with a mixed media painting (technique) with vibrant colors and textures and which allow me to provided them; the strength and fluency that this topic requires”
I consider myself to be an artistic painter from birth; with long hours of work and discipline. I was born for it! I'm Self-taught because I started from scratch and with a lot of effort, I have been learning and applying each concept that I incorporated in my paintings with an immense desire to move forward each day. Therefore, I have been engaged in certain in effort to improve or optimize my technique in drawing the human figure with renowned Colombian masters. I apply all these within my work with the expressionist style that characterizes me, full of texture and color, which represents my soul and my way to be.
“A wide selection of paintings, striking in their use of color and explains the artist approach and techniques”.
Artwork by the Colombian Painter Diana Francia and Biography
My favorite subjects are religious, portrait, figure, landscapeand abstract. These are paintings, which represent my world and my circumstances, interior or exterior experiences, feelings, places, situations of life that remain in my mind, moments that I wish to capture in the memory, thoughts that I wish to convey to others. All of this reflected through the techniques of artistic painting; oil, acrylic and mixed-media, chock-full of texture, color, and gesture, in a figurative expressionist style with colors and textures that express my emotions and soul states.
Through my paintings, I want to achieve more and more interior freedom and creativity. To make them generally I use canvas, although some are painted on wood. To achieve various shades of colors and textures I use oil and/or acrylic paint or mixed media technique, I use any medium that allows me to highlight my paintings; Using as a technique the painting knife and/or controlled drip of paint on the support used (Art dripping), Letting myself be carried away by the imagination or feeling of the moment. The subject matter that inspires me, comes from my desire to find how to paint certain situations of life among others, taking what is in my mind, trying to incorporate it into the canvas for the observer to receive the proper message
